Capacitor duty contactor for switching 3-phase, single, or multiple step capacitor banks in power factor correction applications. It suppresses high switching starting currents of the power capacitors. Ordinary contactors get damaged easily over repeated switching of the capacitors. So, the capacitor duty contactors are the best choice for switching on capacitors as these types of contactors limit the inrush current and tend to increase the capacitor lifespan.
